Every day/week/month choose something from this list and act upon it and notice how you feel. You can pick more than one!
- Help someone once a day - it will give you both pleasure
- Compliment someone - and just say 'thank you' when given a compliment
- Laugh often - even over silly things. Find humor in everything
- Do something spontaneous and give someone a lovely surprise
- Make some time for yourself at least once a day/week
- Share your meals around the table with the family as often as you can
- Make a commitment to have friends round for dinner one night a week
- Do an activity once a week like sing (even in the bath), dance, listen to music etc
- Be passionate about something
- Give someone a hug
- Say those three little words - Nobody can read your mind!
- Don't wait until someone talks to you - talk to them first
- Make time for each other - it is not so difficult and can be worth so much
- Spend one hour a day really talking and listening to someone (hard for some)
- Explore nature - the woods, rivers, ponds and plants - take a walk
- Be aware of your day - good and bad. Keep a diary and refer back to it
- Smile more often - notice yourself when you smile and how you feel
- Shout to others about something good you have done or achieved - don't be shy
- Praise others more - especially children
- Read a book and learn something new
- Cut your television time in half - spend the time with others or just on yourself
- Count your blessings and appreciate what you have - they may disappear one day!
- Life your life in the NOW and not in the past
- Don't regret anything
- Make that phone call - it only takes a few minutes
- Don't say 'When I have...' - why would this make you happy?
- Happiness comes from within - not material possessions
- Flow with the tide - rather than against it
- Be proud to be you - you are unique
